About Us

Immanuel Lutheran School was established in 1927 and is a ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  We are accredited by the Lutheran School Accreditation Commission (LSAC) which is a division of the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). The mission of our school is here to promote and sustain the new life in Christ – to provide opportunities for academic excellence, and to instill Christian values – for as many people as possible in the Heights, in Houston, and beyond.

The children enrolled in our school represent many different Christian denominations and all denominations are welcome and invited to apply for admission.  Religion classes are held daily and the Christian faith is integrated into each subject area as well as the day-to-day life of each student. We maintain a faculty of 12 professionally trained educators and serve a student body of approximately 200 students in the Toddler (18 months) through Eighth Grade program, including a full day Kindergarten.

We pray that our Lord will bless our efforts as together we seek to raise children so that they will “grow both in stature and wisdom, and be loved by God and man.”

Our Mission Statement: ILS promotes and sustains new life in Christ and provides opportunities to pursue academic excellence for as many people as possible in the Heights, in Houston, & beyond.
